Expected Functions and Duties: 

As the case with any academic center in the College, the main functions of the HPEC are divided into Education and Training, research and publications, and services: 

  1. Education and Training:
  • Curriculum design, revision, mentoring, and development  
  • Student Assessment such as; developing new methods, upgrading assessment guidelines, reviewing all kinds of exams, follow up the conduction of exams on Digi-Assess program, follow up clinical based exams, etc…  
  • Faculty Development Programs for fulltime/part-time staff working in the college and hospitals in different fields of HPE and Educational Technology. 
  • Holding educational and training activities for medical staff working in the hospital and other community healthcare settings. 
  • E-Learning Activities; through development of many interactive online courses, follow up the digital process of education using both the Digi-class and Digi-scheduler programs, and follow up and monitoring process of Incision Academy Simulation Platform. 
  • Providing consultations for faculty in issues related to teaching, assessment, and course management. This will be done both through one-on-one training (inside or outside the HPEC) or in the form of meetings with multiple faculty members from different programs.  
  • Planning and conducting workshops for students in the different areas (Study skills, Self-learning, PBL concept and steps, Presentation skills, student assessment methods Orientation, Professional communication, etc…) 
  1. Quality and Accreditation 
  • Working as an important asset in helping ISNC different programs obtain the academic accreditation at the national and international levels. 
  1. Research and Publication 
  • Publish researches in the field of Health Professions Education. 
  • Support the students and staff to conduct research in the field of Health Professions Education. 
  • Collaborate with other health professions educators outside the College or experts’ educators inside the College in doing research. 
  1. Community Partnership.
  • Providing tailored faculty development training activities to academic staff from other institutions. 
  • Providing consultations to other HPEIs in the field of health professions education.
