The course is designed to introduce the students to the concept of drug information, functions, and how to establish drug information centers. In addition this part will expose the students to the theoretical background required to locate, evaluate and communicate drug information using mainly secondary and tertiary resources. In this case the student will be taught types of literatures, classification of requests, and how to prepare, formulate, and communicate an answer. In the practical part, the students will also be exposed to the various types of drug and poison information requests, and be involved in preparation of written response to each using the official request form used by the center.In addition, the student will learn how to write drug monograph. Furthermore the student will be taught and exposed to the various types of secondary and tertiary resources and to the searching technique required for each type.
