This course provides opportunities to develop competencies necessary to meet the needs of individuals throughout the lifespan in a safe, legal, and ethical manner using the nursing process. Emphasis is placed on wellness, physiological, psychological, social, cultural and spiritual factors which contribute to the well- being of the individual and family. The nursing process provides the framework for caring and approved nursing diagnosis (NANDA) and for application of the body of knowledge learned throughout the course, lastly, this course introduces the students to communication and interpersonal skills to prepare him/her to become effective member of a collaborative health care team.
