All lectures are aimed towards the reinforcement of the previous knowledge gained in the early courses and help in updating the students’ information. It will be directed towards the clinical applications of the principles of different cavity preparations as well as the different types of restorative materials.
Operative dentistry, which is also referred to nowadays as conservative dentistry, is the main core of the dental practice throughout more than 100 years. The purpose of this course is to enable the students aware of the new technology of operative dentistry which is now directed towards the prevention and observation of the caries rather than the old concept of caries treatment which is “drilling and filling”. The students should also gain sufficient information and skills on the development of the new restorative dental materials and techniques that changed the views and principles of the science of operative dentistry.
