Lecture:  This part of the course will cover some aspects of patient management especially those that are medically compromised, infection control in the office, and proper use and pitfalls of prescription drugs.  Pertinent laboratory tests and interpretation of the results are also discussed.

Clinics:  Each student will examine a minimum of 5 patients.  The patients are over 35 years old and are in need of comprehensive dental care.  Preference will be given to patients with systemic diseases for evaluation and treatment planning.  Students will present one patient with complete investigation results and a treatment plan.  Clinic sessions at dental centres will also be arranged on a rotational basis.

Report Presentation:  Students will write reports on selected medical and dental conditions and present the findings to their colleagues under the supervision of assigned faculty.  This offers training in methods of collection of data, review of literature, presentation techniques, and how to conduct seminars.
